What: The Summit is a week-long leadership development opportunity for high school students with disabilities from Milwaukee, Ozaukee, Washington, and Waukesha counties.
Participants will learn self-advocacy, independent living, safe and healthy relationships, disability rights and voting, transition to life after high school, money management, employment, college, and much more.
Participants will hear from experts, brainstorm ideas, network with other youth with disabilities, develop community, learn about exciting opportunities, dream and plan for the future, be mentored by Summit Alumni.
When: June 21 to 25, 2010 or July 12 to 16, 2010
Where: IndependenceFirst, 540 S 1st Street, Milwaukee 53204
Included: Breakfast, lunch and snacks each day, all materials, travel reimbursement options, a $100 stipend, reasonable accommodations, fun, learning, and friends.
