Walk on the Child's Side 10 Year Anniversary - Tuesday, June 16
University of Wisconsin - Madison, Libary Mall
Meet at the 700 Block of State Street at 11:00 AM

It has been 10 long years since the first statewide walk to publicize the detrimental effects the school funding forumula has on public education in Wisconsin.  Please join to commemorate this anniversary and to demonstrate that School Funding Reform needs to happen now.

The event, which will begin at the University of Wisconsin-Madison Memorial Library Mall, will mark the 10th anniversary of Walk on the Child's Side. On June 7, 1999, educators, students, parents, and community members set off from Butternut and walked to the Capitol to tell the governor and lawmakers about the adverse effects of the funding formula. The Walk was organized by Price County Citizens Who CARE, a group which made the trip three additional times, drawing attention, support, and new walkers each year.
