Training Sessions on Family Care

The Survival Coalition of Wisconsin Disability Organizations will hold several training sessions around the state on Family Care.

People who attend will learn more about Family Care and what they can expect from it.

These trainings includes in depth sessions on:

  1. The FC outcomes and how you can use those to advocate for yourself
  2. How individual FC budgets are developed and how you can influence that process
  3. All your rights in FC and how to assert them (ie. appeals, complaints, informal remedies, etc.)
  4. A review of the most common problems that people have encountered in the existing FC counties, and how to deal with them
  5. How to make the most of the opportunities associated with switching from COP/CIP to FC, or coming off a waiting list
  6. New residential or vocational service models that consumers could choose
  7. Self directed supports inside FC and in the new IRIS program
