Public Hearing on SB-362, Mental Health Parity

The Senate Committee on Health, Health Insurance, Privacy, Property Tax Relief, and Revenue will hold a public hearing on SB-362 on Tuesday, November 10, 2009.  The hearing will be in Room 411 South in the State Capitol.

SB-362 is the newest version of the Mental Health Parity legislation.  This bill would provide health insurance coverage of mental and nervous disorders, alcoholism, and other substance abuse.  Similar bills have been introduced in past legislative sessions but have never passed.

For more information about this bill go to the DAWN web site.

If you support this bill and the Assembly version (AB-512), plan to attend the hearing.  You can either present your story about how this would benefit you or you can simply register your support.  If you are not able to attend, you can contact the committee chairperson, Sen. Erpenbach, with your thoughts.
